Upstairs In My Attic
(& Thru The Roof)

by Alyce

the invitation still stands
but can you deal with the
complexities inside the shadows
upstairs in my attic?

you said you ain’t afraid
of heights
and your mental welcomes
changes in attitudes
challenges in altitudes

but gravity may
loose us from its grip
and the weightlessness
of our souls
might be the only
ground we can cling to

so
can you fly with me?
far out and beyond ecstasy?

ain’t go’n lie
I ain’t neva been
'cept in my dreams
it’s a place
where pain tempts
pleasure to fulfill its
wildest exploits

canyoubewithmeblending
into mind twisting unending
screams where not even
coitus interrupts us?

where our mutuality
gratifies
mind/soul
through
extreme physicality?

the invitation still stands
but can you guide my flow
and allow me to
lead your fol-low
up the ladder to the roof
just outside the trap doh?

where the shadows
mirror our images
and cast the reflections
against the walls…
reverberating/
beating /but never
repeating our
wet secrets?
