When She Cries

by Alyce

her tears bring a kind of healing
even though her heart would cling
to the warm arms of sorrow

he can't see, when she cries,
how she cherishes their memories . . .
facing east at each sunrise,
searching for him in her mind's eye . . .
he can't see,
how his "good-bye" echoes through her soul;
her sobs of anquish rise from the depths,
the void, inside . . .

when she cries, there's a comfort in the feeling,
as she holds on to the remnants of their love . . .
knowing he can't see

when she cries
