now mired in the self pitying
pity ness of their own
my brothers wallow
at the feet
grabbing at the shoestrings
of the very passersby
unpityingly heaved upon them
the essence of this perfected wallowing
begging for bits of stale bread

and when they, who(?) laughingly
headpattingly "my niggers are so funny,"
scoff, my brothers,
"blackman can't get a break always holdin' a brother down"
wallowing, completely mired, pitifully pitied
only by those profiting from its 'ness

their brothers
