A Jazz Junkie

by Peter Addo

   I didn't know what I was doing
It was all fun and laughter
   I didn't know what I was moving,
And so I did not even bother.

But I am a Jazz Junkie
And I live on the stuff each day
   Don't want no help today
I just love being a Jazz Junkie

There ain't no holes in me
My act is as clean as it can be
And just before I hear jazz
I am as good as I can be.

I don't shuffle not even jive
   I know that's not cool
I don't go wild but stay alive
   Cause I ain't no body's fool.

My head is screwed on tight
And mind, it acts all right
Cause I am clean and clean and clean
And you can't tell the way I lean.
