The Belly of the City |
by Peter Addo |
No need to speculate on the causes Neglect exposes the corridors of the mind No wonder crude images prevail with no accuracy about the poor The homeless with no responsibility Government supper, private food, drink, and shelter Never a responsibility to either the giver or the receiver Is this the nature of man, his built, of freedom and of God? Without a theory that transforms; we give and receive in vain To transform them into nameless nomads In the belly of the city. |
