Spirit From Within

by A.B. Wilson Jr.

I am who I am.
I am a person.
I have strengths and weaknesses.
I have values and peeves.
I love and like.
I try not to hate.
I am human.
I have made some mistakes, but have done many things right.
I care about others.
I have many goals still to conquer.
I have many mountains to climb.
I am special in my own way.
I see myself in my own way.
I ask nothing from anybody.
I take nothing from others.
I keep my privacy.
I never place labels on others.
When I see my fellow man or woman I see a person.
I see one of God's creations.
Some people see only what is on the outside.
They don't see what is within.
Too many fail to see the spirit from within.
That inner beauty that exudes a special strength.
Labels don't make sense.
We are attempting to survive in this world.
It doesn't matter tall, short, fat, thin or medium.
It does not matter what a person looks like on the outside.
It who they are on the inside.
It is about character.
It is about honesty and intergrity.
I about respect for the individual.
Making the judgement on the basis
of who the person is on the inside.
What is on the outside does not tell
anything about the person.
Too bad people are so foolish to see
what is on the outside only
and not see the spirit from within.
It is that spirit from within that tells the true person.
Please, to all other see me for what I have within
not what you see on the outside.
I see your spirit from within.
I want to see my spirit from within.
