A Gallant Effort |
by A.B. Wilson Jr. |
It was a war and we did our best. The other side put to us to a major test. We fought the elements and took our lumps. We gave the other side a bumps. Both sides showed a bitter courage. All those involved knew they were centerstage. Those who saw viewed in total awe. We knew we had to push, scratch, and claw. In the final analysis there can only be one survivor. The side that survives was a little wiser. When the contest is over and all is said and done. The side that gave the extra effort won. |
