Brothers and Sisters

by A.B. Wilson

Brothers and Sisters we should be as one.
We have yet to reach our place in the sun.
There are many battles we still must fight.
The ultimate triumph doesn't appear in sight.

There are so many hills we need to climb.
It just seems like we're running out of time.
Many of us know what is wrong.
Things just take so damn long.

We always find somebody else to blame.
That is just absolutely lame.
Sometimes we point a violent finger toward each other.
That is no way to be a real brother.

We want others outside to make us free.
There are many things that should not be.
We have received some measely crumbs.
There are still to many dreadful slums.

The leaders speak loud and bold.
There are still many freezing in the cold.
How much longer will we have to wait?
Is is all to late?

All the years have past.
Find a way to change this fast.
Brothers and Sisters please see the light.
It is time we really unite.
